"This costume is something I had wanted to do for a long time. I finally decided
that I was going to tackle it this year and I am very glad I did. Using 2 pictures
fromt he original Hellraiser and a Pinhead figure, I managed a costume that was
very close to the real thing. The only real notable difference is that I have
no pins in my face. I had actually made a latex appliance to be used but it would
have made eating and drinking impossible. Because of this, I opted not to wear
it.
The costume is made from 10 yards of synthetic snakeskin, lots of liquid latex,
lots of rubber/plastic paint, 107 aluminum rivets that were individally cut/filed
to be glued to the appliance, blackout contact lenses, chain and duct tape. I
also incorporated some platform shoes to make myself a bit taller. I mean seriously..
Who is going to think a 5'9" pinhead is scary? I stood over 6'3" total
with the shoes on.
This costume took over 25 hours to complete but the final result was well worth
it. Costume contests were a breeze and I took dozens of pictures with random
folks at various halloween parties. Many people asked me to refrain from looking
them in the eye as it made them uncomfortable. I even had a few grown men tell
me that I (Pinhead) still give them nightmares. I don't know how I will top
this next year so maybe I will just do repairs to the outfit and wear it again.

ass villians ever to the screen. No-one else could portray pinhead like you
do, man. NO-ONE!
