jumara as Pinhead

costume "My Pinhead costume was created in the most low budget way I could. The lower skirt is a velvet skirt I purchased from the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

The top, a leather bomber jacket, was also purchased from the same place. They had just got it in and didn't put it out for sale yet. It had a 4 inch rip on the left sleeve and they only wanted $5.00 for it, I was shocked. I removed the lining and cuffs, and had my neighbor assist me with the alterations. I wore the jacket backwards with the collar flipped up, the sides and sleeves were tapered. My neighbor made a 4 inch wide vinyl strap to be velcroed up my back to cover the zipper and hold the collar up. I made the ripped flesh and belly prosthetics out of foam latex and used large fishing hooks through the ripped flesh tabs. The cod piece was also made of vinyl.

The face and head are prosthetic latex appliances glued on and I used about 90 brads (nails) for the pins. I altered the nails for my safety. I used the costume on Halloween 1997 and entered a costume contest down town. I won $500.00 for first place in the scary category. I will try my luck again this year."
